Throughout Q3 2021, the performance of the top 5 iOS navigation and maps apps in Nigeria exhibited interesting trends in both weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals the following insights:

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 5.7K and 6.6K. The app peaked in the week of August 16 with approximately 6.6K downloads. Active users also showed a consistent increase, starting at 286K in late June and reaching about 314K by the end of September.

Google Earth experienced a more modest performance in terms of downloads, ranging from 244 to 489 weekly. The highest number of downloads was seen in mid-July at 489. Active users showed a slight decline towards the end of the quarter, starting at 1.8K and ending at around 2K.

iLocation: Here! had stable download numbers, varying from 233 to 392 weekly, with a peak in early September. Active users for the app increased gradually from 1.9K to 2.2K over the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a steady increase in downloads, moving from 163 to 265 throughout the quarter. Active users also trended upwards, starting at 11.1K and ending at about 12.4K by the end of September.

GPS Navigation & Map Direction showed a consistent rise in downloads, from 100 in late June to 252 by the end of September. Active users mirrored this growth, starting at 460 and climbing to 949 by the end of the quarter.
